Peer Review Process
Pramasta Journal of Nursing Practice (PJNP) employs a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and validity of the research we publish. The peer review process is crucial in maintaining the integrity and scholarly excellence of our journal.
1. Initial Editorial Check:
- Upon submission, all manuscripts undergo an initial editorial review by the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors. This initial check ensures that the manuscript meets the journal's scope, follows the submission guidelines, and meets basic formatting requirements.
- Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to authors for revisions or desk rejected.
2. Assignment to Peer Reviewers:
- Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial check are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers in the field of nursing or related disciplines. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, qualifications, and absence of conflicts of interest with the authors.
- Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, significance, methodology, validity of findings, and relevance to nursing practice and research.
3. Peer Review Process:
- Reviewers conduct a thorough evaluation of the manuscript and provide constructive feedback to the Editor regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the study.
- Reviewers may recommend acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection based on their assessment of the manuscript.
4. Decision Making:
- Based on the reviewers' feedback, the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors make a decision regarding the manuscript. The decision is communicated to the corresponding author along with reviewers' comments.
- Possible decisions include acceptance, acceptance pending revisions, major revisions followed by re-review, or rejection.
5. Author Revision and Resubmission:
- If revisions are requested, authors are provided with reviewers' comments and are asked to revise their manuscript accordingly.
- Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the original reviewers or new reviewers to ensure that all concerns have been adequately addressed.
6. Final Decision and Publication:
- Upon satisfactory completion of revisions and final approval by the Editor, accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage.
- The final version of the manuscript is copyedited, typeset, and prepared for publication in accordance with the journal's formatting guidelines.
- Accepted articles are published online on the PJNP website and indexed in relevant databases, ensuring global visibility and accessibility.
Confidentiality and Integrity:
- PJNP upholds strict confidentiality in the peer review process, protecting the identities of both authors and reviewers.
- Editors and reviewers are expected to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and to conduct their roles objectively and impartially.
Through our robust peer review process, Pramasta Journal of Nursing Practice (PJNP) aims to maintain high standards of academic integrity and to publish articles that contribute significantly to nursing practice, education, and research.
